Zuri is a Czech aircraft company building a long-range uncrewed cargo VTOL for defense and civil logistics: helicopter access with fixed-wing range, hybrid-electric and remotely piloted.
It fills the missing middle of the sky. Small drones carry a few kilograms a few dozen kilometers and need power at both ends of the route. Helicopters move tonnes at high cost per flight hour, with a crew exposed on every routine run. In between, a hundred-plus kilograms across hundreds of kilometers, onto ground with no runway, today goes by convoy, by boat, or waits.
The aircraft carries 100+ kg over 679 km by design, or 569 km with a full 30-minute reserve, cruises at 220 km/h, and lands on a pad, a deck, or open ground. A generator makes the electricity in flight, so range is set by tank size and payload, and refueling takes minutes on AVGAS, automotive gasoline, or bioethanol. Nothing new is built at either end: no runway, no vertiport, no charging installation. One operator flies it from the ground, with no one on board for the leg that carries the risk, at a fraction of a crewed helicopter's operating cost per kilogram-kilometer. Between resupply tasks, the same airframe carries the sensors and communications a mission needs.
The aircraft is ITAR-free, designed and built in the EU on a sovereign European supply base. More than fifteen aircraft have flown since 2018, all designed, built, and flown in-house in Prague. Technology Demonstrator 2.0, the full-scale demonstrator the cargo aircraft is built on, is in systems integration and ground test, with flight testing planned to begin in 2027.
